SpecialtyCare is the largest provider of perfusion services in the United States. No one else even comes close. With our national presence and local professionals, we support 1 in 8 of all heart surgeries in the country. SpecialtyCare helps you create a program that meets all of your perfusion needs and we integrate seamlessly with your operating room team. We maintain outstanding surgeon satisfaction while focusing on improved patient outcomes and cost-effective care.
“As a cardiac surgeon I understand as well as anyone the contribution that our perfusionists have on our patients and our surgeons. I am indebted to so many of them for their professionalism in supporting my practice. We at SpecialtyCare are honored to support National Perfusion Week.”
– Sam Weinstein, MD, MBA, Chief Executive Officer
One of the biggest draws of Perfusion Week is staying up-to-date about innovations and education methods in the perfusion space. SpecialtyCare is a leader in providing quality and clinically superior perfusion education programs. Because continuous learning drives continuous improvement, the core of SpecialtyCare’s training utilizes these three modalities, each customized to our specific services:
- Didactic training in a traditional classroom setting
- Simulation center featuring a fully equipped OR for training
- Lectures on regulatory and legal issues that ensure awareness of, and adherence to, the very latest compliance standards
Applicants to SpecialtyCare’s perfusion program must have completed a two-year master’s degree, a post-bachelor two-year training program, or be board certified. New graduates have two years after hire to achieve board certification. We provide support in preparation for the certification exams and continuing education opportunities through internal training and CEU-eligible industry events.
Additionally, SpecialtyCare supports Thomas Jefferson University’s Institute of Emerging Health Professions Center for Perfusion and Extracorporeal Technology Education by donating the latest technology, equipment, and software to the Dr. Robert and Dorothy Rector Clinical Skills and Simulation Center to ensure that students benefit from the most advanced tools and resources available.
